We collect information in the following categories.
We may collect:
We use this information to create your account, verify your identity or school affiliation, protect the community, and provide age-appropriate experiences.
You may add information to your profile, timeline, wall, or similar personal spaces, such as:
Some profile and timeline information may be visible to other users depending on your visibility settings and the feature you use.
We collect content you create or interact with on Lincyou, including:
The audience for your content depends on the posting destination, your settings, verification rules, and applicable safety restrictions.
We may collect information about how you connect with others on Lincyou, including:
We use this information to help users discover relevant people, maintain trust and safety, and improve recommendations.
If you use Lincyou tools, we may collect:
By default, personal goals, progress, and planning information should be treated as private unless you choose to share it or a feature clearly states otherwise.
If you participate in polls, we may collect:
Unless a specific feature clearly says otherwise, individual poll votes should not be shown to other users. Poll creators should see aggregate results only.
Lincyou may include features that help users understand credibility, contribution, and trust, such as:
Some of these signals may be generated from your activity or from information provided by other users. Because this information can affect how others perceive you, Lincyou should provide appropriate visibility controls, correction paths, and dispute or removal processes.
To support a trusted community, Lincyou may collect information used to verify claims such as:
Verification may involve information you provide directly, school-issued credentials, documents, email domains, or third-party verification providers. We use verification information to determine access, visibility, trust indicators, and eligibility for certain features.
If Lincyou offers career, internship, recruiter, or opportunity-related features, you may choose whether to make selected profile information visible for those purposes.
Recruiter or opportunity visibility should be:

AI features may be powered by third-party AI providers. Lincyou should disclose which providers are used, where data is processed, how long AI logs are retained, and whether user data is used to train AI models.
We may automatically collect:
We use this information for security, analytics, fraud prevention, product improvement, debugging, and service reliability.

We do not sell personal information.
Lincyou is built around real identity and controlled visibility. Different information may be visible to different audiences depending on your settings, the feature, and safety rules.
Lincyou may use audience tiers such as:
Profile basics such as name, school, and profile photo may be visible to other users so Lincyou can operate as a real-identity student network. Other profile sections may have more limited visibility settings.
Timeline, milestones, skills, and related profile content may be visible based on your selected audience setting. Lincyou should provide a way to preview how your profile appears to different audiences where feasible.
When you publish content, the destination determines who can see it:
A post should keep its original audience wherever it appears, including on your wall, in search results, in feeds, and through shares.
Plaza is a cross-campus discovery feed. Content posted to Plaza may be visible to all signed-in Lincyou users, but it is not intended to be indexed publicly on the internet at MVP.
Because Plaza posts can route other users to the author’s profile or wall, Lincyou should clearly label Plaza as cross-campus visibility at the time of posting.
Individual poll votes should not be shown to other users unless clearly stated before voting. Poll creators should generally see aggregate results only.
Recruiter or internship visibility should be off by default and require explicit opt-in. If enabled, users should be able to choose which profile sections are shared.
Lincyou may be used by students, including users under 18 if the product expands to high school or pre-university students.
For users under 18, Lincyou should apply additional protections, such as:
Lincyou should not knowingly collect personal information from children below the minimum permitted age without required consent. The exact minimum age and consent process should be finalized with legal counsel for each launch jurisdiction.

Lincyou may work with schools, universities, alumni associations, clubs, or other organizations.
Individual user data should not be shared with an institution or organization unless:
Lincyou should maintain clear boundaries between individual user data and institution or organization data.
If recruiter or opportunity features are available, we share selected user information only when the user has opted in and chosen what to make visible.
We may disclose information if we believe it is reasonably necessary to:

Where AI is used to generate recommendations, trust signals, safety decisions, or profile-related insights, Lincyou should provide appropriate transparency and, where required, ways to request review, correction, or deletion.
Lincyou should not use private user content to train external AI models unless clearly disclosed and permitted by law and user consent.
